Haunted Savannah: The Ghosts of the Marshall House
Hear the eerie past of one of Savannah's oldest and most haunted hotels, The Marshall House—a hotel filled with ghosts and history. Located on historic Broughton Street, this hotel boasts a rich history dating back to its construction in 1851 by Mary Marshall. Unlike other historic hotels in Savannah, The Marshall House was always intended to be a hotel, giving it a unique architectural charm with original features like beautiful brick walls and a glamorous staircase.
During the Civil War, The Marshall House served as a hospital for Union soldiers and later during Savannah’s yellow fever epidemics. This storied past has left a ghostly mark on the hotel, with numerous reports of paranormal activity. Guests have encountered Civil War soldiers, playful ghostly children, and even the spirit of Mary Marshall herself. Room 414 is particularly notorious for its eerie occurrences, including foul odors and unsettling vibes that persist despite numerous attempts to cleanse the room.
Whether you are a history enthusiast or a paranormal aficionado, The Marshall House offers an unforgettable experience. Discover the fascinating tales and spine-chilling encounters that make this hotel a must-visit destination in Savannah, GA.
